Proposed MPUSD Workforce Housing
The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education continues to move forward with its workforce housing initiative. The Board of Education received a presentation on September 9, 2025, from Education Housing Partners on this project.
Districtwide Calendars for 2025-2026 School Year Now Available
The Board of Education approved the districtwide school calendars for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years.
Special education students get summer opportunity to learn culinary and workplace skills
This summer, a group of high school-aged special education students got the chance to take on some new challenges in the kitchen and prepare for their future.
CNA Program for Graduating Seniors!
The Monterey Adult School will be offering a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program for graduating seniors. This is a perfect opportunity for any senior wanting to enter the health field right after high school and for any senior who will need clinical experience for programs in the future.

Community Conversations With Ohana
Come to the Monterey County Library to meet with Ohana. Ohana will be hosting talks about the Magic Years (1-5) and Drug Prevention. They will also be hosting a Teen Talk geared towards teens and adolescents. See the attached flyer for more information.

Important Information to 7th Grade Families about Walter Colton in 2022-2023
The district made the difficult decision to close Walter Colton Middle School at the end of the 2022-2023 school year (after this year's 7th grade students promote from 8th grade into high school). With Walter Colton School only operating 8th grade in 2022-2023, it will be located on the current Monte Vista Elementary campus.
